Many people whether they would consider themselves spiritual or not, think of the good aspects of Christmas as a time that warmth should fill one’s heart. Strained relationships come together. Life’s challenges find a way to be softened. And love fills the air. You can observe this in the top Christmas movies like “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “Miracle of 34th Street”, “One Magic Christmas”, and so on. There is a common theme… Christmas can truly be a magical time of the year.
When you stop and think about it, isn’t the true gift that Jesus really brought to the Earth the gift and example of the Fruit of the Spirit… “Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Gentleness, Goodness" and ultimately Forgiveness?
If you haven’t already done so, this Christmas would you be willing to accept this gift and commit to living with these fruits? If you do, the probability is that you will experience joy in this world and peace on this earth as will those that you spend time with. Then for good measure, carry it on into the New Year and with God’s help it will be the best year that you have ever experienced. This is one of the best true gifts of Christmas that you can both receive and then give to others, isn't it?
Would you take a little time to have your heart touched?
