Why is it that sometimes holidays like Thanksgiving can be a really unhappy time?  Perhaps it is due to failed relationships, family dysfunction, busyness, health, travel, and so on.  As a result, we may find ourselves stressing about all that is wrong.

This year, can or will you make a conscious choice to slow down and smell the roses?  What if you would take time to reflect on all that is right?  Do you have a roof over your head?  Will you have food to eat?  Do you have the ability to travel to see family or friends?  Here in America, the list goes on and on.

Paraphrasing from the book of ultimate wisdom, “Be thankful in all things and you will receive peace that is hard to comprehend”.  In addition to personally experiencing happiness this Thanksgiving, think of the positive influence that you may have on friends and family that you are spending time with.  Make it quality time and an enjoyable experience.

DO YOU WANT TO LIVE WITH LESS STRESS?

IS YOUR ATTITUDE YOUR CHOICE?

Every day when we wake up we have many choices to make.  Such choices include what to wear, to eat breakfast or not, and many, many more.  Some of our choices are conscious decisions and some are not.  Conscious choices give us the opportunity to take responsibility for shaping our future.  Isn’t one of the most important choices we have the choice of our attitude?

Chuck Swindoll wrote this, “The longer I love, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do… The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude...I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes.”

If you are a person of faith, be anxious for nothing and thankful for everything.  Then sense how much easier it is to flow with a positive attitude with less stress in your life.
